Take Care

Take good care of your garment and you will be pleased with its appearance and long life.

Suits

Try not to wear suits repeatedly day after day, as they are made using natural fibres, they need a rest period in order to maintain their appearance, shape and improve their longevity.

Always use a reputable dry cleaner and try not to dry clean them excessively.

Hanging your suit on an appropriate hanger when not in use and brushing it regularly will help maintain its overall appearance.

Knitwear

The long term appearance of knitwear will ultimately depend on home maintenance. To maintain the original shape, the following is recommended.

In the first instance, always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Machine wash at low temperature (30oC) but more importantly a minimum cycle.

If you choose to hand wash a garment ensure that the water is the right temperature. Often when hand washing there is a tendency to add too much warm water -30o will feel almost cold to touch.

Always re-shape garment after washing.

Dry flat, avoiding direct heat and sunlight.

When drying flat, place on a white towel.

Try to air garment instead of laundering.

All knitwear is prone to piling: this is an unavoidable natural occurrence.

Shoes

Do not wear leather soled shoes on a wet surface for the first few times of wear.

Wet shoes should always be left to dry naturally, never put them near direct heat.

Do not wear shoes on consecutive days, as the moisture absorbed during wear needs to dry naturally.

The use of shoetrees will maintain the shape of your shoes and therefore, the comfort when being worn.

With repeated wear, leather soles will wear away and will need to be resoled. Never allow the deterioration to become excessive.

All shoes need regular cleaning; our advice is to use a shoe cream on all leather shoes instead of shoe polish.

Jeans

The long term appearance and colour of the fabric will ultimately depend on home maintenance. To minimise loss of colour and maintain the original shape, the following is recommended.

In the first instance, follow the manufacturer’s instructions. We recommend a washing temperature of 30o.

Always turn jeans inside out.

Always re-shape garment after washing.

To dry, hang the garment inside out, avoiding direct sunlight.
